GENERAL DESCRIPTION BL11-2 is a high-flux XAS station dedicated to molecular environmental and interface sciences. It is equipped with a 30-element Ge solid state detector, a LHe cryostat, a grazing incidence XAS instrument and specialized equipment for monitoring and potential containment of radioactive materials. It has an adjacent "ante-room" for secure temporary storage of the samples, some of which are related to the DOE's mission for remediation of radionuclides resulting from the nuclear stockpile.
