GENERAL DESCRIPTION: BL8-1 is equipped with a post-monochromator beam-splitting mirror to allow for two sample chamber locations. BL8-1a accommodates roll-on user chambers while BL8-1b has a permanently located system that includes an STM. The mirror cooling system was upgraded in FY04 and the BL8-1 stations are SPEAR3 500 mA compatible. Stations 8-1a and 8-1b cannot be used simultaneously.
