Experimental Station 13-3

BL 13 is an elliptical polarized undulator (EPU) beamline. Incident photon energy range of BL 13-3 lies from 230 eV to 1400 eV, which covers C, O, F K-edges, 3d transition metal L-edges, 4f rare-earth element M-edges. Furthermore, EPU generated linearly (vertical, horizontal) and circularly (left, right) polarized incident photon enables polarization analysis.

In general, this BL 13-3 branch is optimized for X-ray scattering techniques such as Resonant Soft X-ray Scattering (RSXS) and Coherent X-ray Image (CXI). RSXS end-station is equipped with a limited angle 4-circle goniometer with 3-axes sample translator. Schottky barrier photodiodes and Channeltron are used for detectors with a variable slit set. A motion of detector angle goes up to ~170° (depending on detector setup). CXI end-station is equipped with a 2D CCD detector with 3-axes sample translator. Both end-stations are doable to cooling down using open-circle liquid helium cryostat, which enables sample temperature down to ~ 25 K. Also, both end-stations are operating under UHV condition. Additionally, X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy (XAS) measurement can be simultaneously performed by the drain current (total electron yield, TEY), during the scattering measurement.
